Product Review: Greens First
You may or may not have read my Green Drink blog post so if you haven’t, check it out here. You’ll see I make a green drink daily for the whole family and always include Greens First. So, when I received product from Greens First to review, needless to say, I was pretty stoked. While I believe I eat pretty healthy, there are days when I wish I would’ve eaten more fruits and vegetables and less processed foods. Greens First becomes my insurance policy so that I know I’m getting all the nutrients, phytonutrients and antioxidants to keep my ph balanced.
If you’re not familiar with the importance of your acid/alkaline ph levels, it’s worth doing some research. Basically, the typical Standard American Diet (ie SAD), stress, pollution and other factors put our bodies in a highly acidic state. Fruits and vegetables especially dark leafy greens, on the other hand, help alkalinize our bodies. When our bodies stay in an acidic state for too long, we get sick, develop diseases, gain weight and our bodies begin to break down. Including alkalinizing foods will help prevent this breakdown. That’s where Greens First comes in.
In addition to key ingredients like Spirulina, Chlorella, Tumeric, probiotics and a ton of other great nutrients, Greens First contains over 49 super foods including 15 servings of fruits and vegetables so I feel good knowing if I miss my fruits and veggie intake for the day, I’m covered. Additionally, I like to think it helps balance my coffee habit:) I only have one or two cups a day, but I know it’s highly acidic. So, I’ve been drinking Greens First (the original blend) for a few years and can say it helps me feel balanced, healthy and vibrant. It’s somewhat minty and taste great even mixed with water alone, which is highly unusual for most green powders. (Of course it’s even better mixed in with my blended green drink.) The berry is also good and comes with many of the same phytonutrients and antioxidants, but in my opinion, the original taste the best. Try both for yourself though and let me know what you think. Either one you chose, I’m sure you’ll enjoy. I, for one, am a fan and loyal customer and certainly appreciate them sending their product to review.
btw, you can order from their website here. They have, however, been kind enough to offer a 10% discount if you call 866-410-1818 direct. I’ll take that!
Thanks Greens First!
